WOODLANDS WATERFRONT

Image

After shifting to my new place in Woodlands, i now had to scour for new
haunts for the children to hang out and play. They rarely have time to
do so these days for homework is a killer in their new school, so as
usual, lucky for us we have gramps (grandpa) who brought us to
our new hangout here in Woodlands. Huge place and not just for
the children but for all ages as well. Share with you guys about
the place below!

Here are the parking charges there.. car park not very spacious
and unless if you're one of the early birds, you may need to park
at nearby HDB parking spaces and just walk / jog your way there.

After we parked the car, here's what greeted us further down from
the first point of entry. Yeah.. what i thought too.. Huge!

It was a wee bit dark that morning as it looked like it was going to
rain and we were kinda early as well... came before 8:00am for a
morning jog & cycle with gramps. Gramps brought his roller blades
and the children had a while of a time chasing him around the park!

Here's another one on a clearer morning.

If the climbing frame is too much for the little ones joining the fun,
then this would be a good alternative. A smaller and safer
looking playground for the little tots.. :please:

There are a few exercise stations you can work out with after your
run or jog round the huge park...

I have always loved swings as a child. :please: I have fond memories
of playing with swings in the kampong and also later on at playgrounds.
I also have memories and some hidden scars from the falling off from
swings too. Swings are fab playthings.. great for happy breezy
days and also soothing for those not so good days where all you want
and need is some quiet time to calm those thoughts..

No need to fight! Hehee.. there are 4 swings here. From my testing, it
can take the weight of children and ahem.. me.. so it's a go for adults
too!

Here are some pictures of the running or jogging tracks away from the
smokey fumes of traffic but instead with the serenity of the park, scent
of greenery all around, under the fresh morning sun... accompanied by
the cool morning dew dropsy air and with a view of our neighbour just
across the jetty.

Some come here to fish too.. not that there are that many fish to
begin with but i suppose just leisure fishing bah.. better than the
iPhone fishing game right? At least here can really fish.
While waiting FOR the real fish can still do virtual fishing on
that iPhone lar.

There are also some pavillions/huts if you feel like having a picnic.

On lovely days, we have briskwalking groups from other parts of
Singapore coming here for their events or group trips.

After coming here a couple of times, by far this place is the biggest
and also the cleanest (because it's still new bah.. :P) within Woodlands
area for our kiddies and ourselves too! The plus is that it is a great place
to chill for the young and old. In your free evenings, you can come here with
your spouse star-gazing in the cool breeze too. So, if you're in the area,
drop by and check this place out. Till i find another cool haunt, Woodlands
Waterfront will be our place to go for our leisure jogs and play during our
weekends. :celebrate:

Note : The only thing to watch out for here is : millipedes... and yes...
inexperienced fisher-people... so watch out for that hook! :!:
